Software developer

Based in Jodhpur, India

Hi, I'm Shivam. I work mostly on the backend, where the tricky stuff lives. Think live tracking for delivery apps, payment systems that move real money, and AI features that answer questions from a company's own data.

Right now

Building products at Maxaix. Scroll down for seven things I've worked on.

Scroll

01 · What I do

Most of my projects start as a messy problem. Riders moving across a city while customers watch every turn live. A tender document that takes days to price by hand. Rent that needs to reach the right bank account every month. Someone's whole financial life and the simple question of whether they're doing okay. I enjoy turning that kind of mess into software people can rely on.

02 · Work

Shipped.

01 / 07 · 2026 · Personal finance app

FinCard

A report card for your money, with a coach attached.

01 · The problem

Am I doing okay with money?

Most people know their salary and roughly what their EMI is. Ask whether they're doing okay overall, though, and there's no real answer. The pieces are spread across bank apps, a forgotten SIP and some gold at home.

02 · The score

One score out of 100

You answer a few questions about what you earn, owe, spend and own. FinCard turns that into a balance sheet and a health score, and the score is always free.

The score has two halves, monthly habits and what you've built, so owning a big house can't hide bad habits. I tested the maths against 200,000 generated profiles.

03 · The checks

The weakest spot shows up first

Eight checks explain where the score came from, with the one that needs the most work at the top. Each check shows the actual sum in your own rupees, so nothing feels like a black box.

Checks you haven't revealed yet stay on the server, so there's nothing hidden inside the app for anyone to dig out.

04 · The simulator

Try a change before you make it

Wondering what clearing your credit card would do? Drag a slider and watch the score update straight away, before any real money moves.

Credits go through a single locked transaction with an idempotency key, so tapping twice never charges twice.

02 / 07 · Maxaix · 2024 · Delivery, rides, shopping

SendMePls

Parcels, rides and shopping, with the customer and the rider watching the same order live.

01 · The problem

Everyone is watching the same order

The customer and the rider look at the same order from two different phones. If one screen falls even a few seconds behind, people start calling support.

02 · Real-time

Live location without the lag

I built the real-time core. Each location ping from the rider goes into Redis and is pushed out over WebSockets, so both screens move together.

03 · Busy hours

Orders that never get mixed up

Peak hours are where apps usually break. A queue and job layer keeps every order update in the right order, and a small AI step estimates prices for shopping requests.

03 / 07 · Maxaix · 2024 · Travel and vouchers

Indikosh

Flights, hotels, buses and vouchers, all booked from one app.

01 · The idea

One search box for the whole trip

Instead of switching between separate apps for flights, hotels and buses, travellers search once and book everything in the same place.

02 · Suppliers

Results from two suppliers, merged

I integrated the TripJack and Yatra APIs behind a single REST API, so results from both come back as one sorted list the app can show right away.

03 · Checkout

From payment to ticket

Payment goes through Easebuzz and the ticket is issued straight after. The operations team handles everything after booking from an admin panel I built.

04 / 07 · Maxaix · Internal · Enterprise operations

Vendor + Workforce

An internal platform for managing vendors, contracts and timesheets at scale.

01 · Approvals

Every timesheet goes through the right hands

Timesheets pass through several approval stages, rates change on set dates, and each role only sees the data it's allowed to see.

02 · Exports

Month-end reports that don't time out

The big month-end exports kept failing halfway. I moved them to background jobs that work through the data in chunks, and now they finish every time.

03 · AI

Ask a question, get a table

Managers type a question in plain English. A Text-to-SQL agent built on Claude and Qdrant writes the query, and it only touches data that person is allowed to see.

05 / 07 · Maxaix · Internal · Procurement

RfqAI

An AI tool that turns tender documents into priced estimates.

01 · The problem

Days of reading and copying

Pricing a tender meant someone going through pages of line items by hand, looking up each rate and typing it into a spreadsheet. It took days.

02 · Extraction

Let the model do the reading

The document is split into chunks, and an LLM pulls out every line item with its quantity and unit, in the same order as the tender.

03 · Pricing

Prices pulled from past quotes

Each item is matched against a vector store of old quotes and current market rates. What used to take days now comes out as a finished report.

06 / 07 · Web Techno · 2023 · Property SaaS

MyRentalSpot

Property management software for landlords and renters, with payments at its heart.

01 · Leasing

Signing a lease online

Renters fill in an application, the landlord approves it, and the lease is signed digitally. Nobody has to print or scan anything.

02 · Payments

Rent goes where it should

I built the complete Stripe Connect payment system. Rent for each property is split up and sent to the right bank accounts automatically.

03 · Autopay

Paid on the first of every month

Autopay and recurring payments cover the awkward edge cases too, so landlords get paid on time without chasing anyone.

07 / 07 · Freelance · 2024 · Trademark services

Jod Law Firm

A website and custom CMS for a trademark services firm.

01 · The website

A site that brings in clients

The firm wanted a website that explains their trademark services clearly and gets visitors to book a consultation.

02 · The CMS

Easy for the team to update

I built a custom Laravel CMS for their services, consultations and enquiries, so they can change their own content without calling a developer.

03 · Deployment

Live on AWS

I handled the deployment myself too, from setting up the EC2 server to the SSL certificate and the CDN.

Payments
